TECHNO-ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT OF WIND TURBINES IN NIGERIA
نویسندگان
چکیده
Wind energy potentials of some selected high altitude and coastal areas in Nigeria are assessed for possible utilization the generation electricity. The main aim is to provide pragmatic insight that will enhance investment wind conversion systems an optimal manner. data used this present study were obtained from Meteorological Agency, which includes average speeds per day four locations across country, measured at anemometer height 10 metres over a period 11 years. With sites classified based on their power densities, capacity factor estimation value was select most suitable turbine sites, cost method employed estimate unit various hub-heights. results reveal Jos, Kano Ikeja economically viable as well having excellent resources integration into grid, while P/H standalone application. outcome provides useful information aid renewable policymakers development. Keywords: Capacity estimation, turbine, Electricity generation, Techno-economyJEL Classification: C63DOI: https://doi.org/10.32479/ijeep.10030

Techno-Economic Analysis of Hydrokinetic Turbines
In small-scale hydropower scheme, the most important component is electro-mechanical equipment. Since cost contribution of this component is high because hydrokinetic projects require negligible civil works. Turbine and alternator contribute a major fraction of the hydrokinetic projects. Thus, there is a requirement to estimates the electromechanical equipment cost for a hydrokinetic hydropower...
متن کاملTechno-Econo-Environmental study on the use of domestic-scale wind turbines in Iran
Existing fossil fuels do not meet the needs of modern societies and are almost coming to an end. Hence, governments can respond both to the needs of the people and the industry, by investing in the use of renewable energies. As well as saving fossil fuels, natural gas and even water. According to the research, renewable energy, especially wind energy, has been used in recent years and are able ...
متن کاملReliability Assessment of Wind Turbines
Wind turbines can be considered as structures that are in between civil engineering structures and machines since they consist of structural components and many electrical and machine components together with a control system. Further, a wind turbine is not a one-of-a-kind structure but manufactured in series production based on many component tests, some prototype tests and zeroseries wind tur...
متن کاملTechno-Economic and Environmental Evaluation of Expansion Turbines for Gas Field Improvement (Case study)
Regarding the increased energy consumption of the processes at the operational units in the National Iranian Oil Company, the present study analyzed energy consumption at one of the gas refineries. In this refinery, which is the main supplier of Fajr Jam refinery for the national gas network, as well as an injection into the oil fields of the Iranian South oil company, the pressure of gas after...
متن کاملTechno-economic assessment of regional biomass use
An approach for techno-economic optimisation and for the analysis of industrial biomass use is proposed in this paper. The ARGUS model (German acronym for: allocation module for a computer-aided generation of environmental strategies for emissions), based on linear programming, has been implemented as one of the few models that investigates VOC emissions from approximately 40 industrial sectors...
